The French Embassy does not want you to read this at 6 AM!

"Awake" isn't the right feeling to desribe 5 AM in Delhi. It feels more like En Garde (On Guard).

I realized this morning that the sun has an identity crisis. In Hindi, the morning is feminine (Subah). In French, the morning is masculine ( Le Matin). This linguistic gender dysmorphia is too heavy for a mind that hasn't had tea yet!

Then I sat on the terrace, whispering weird french words...weirdly. The "R" sound in French requires you to clear your throat, much like Delhi requires you to clear your lungs in the morning pollution.

I whispered 'Bonjour' to the window. The window didn't reply. It just stayed grey...Silence, I suppose! is the only fluency we share.

Then I whispered "Ca va?" to the horizon. The horizon didn't reply. It just turned orange. But is that a way of saying...."Aage bado!"?

I finally finished my tea. The cup was empty!

I looked at the clock. It reflected "Eleventh Hour".

Then i looked at the newspaper on the table...dated feb 20.

today is 19th!

maybe i've conjugated the future tense so hard that i accidentally arrived there...but well! i'm not going to check..History is written by the victors but is read by the confused!

A demain(Until tmrw).....or was it yesterday?
